While PAP AMPOULE is a young company (2023), the idea has been in my head for a long time.
My name is Bruno Tronchi, I am 53 years old and a family man. I have had several careers in my life, but what defines me most is this: I am passionate about inventions. I love creating, entrepreneurship, thinking, starting over — I am curious about everything and love to experiment.
The creation of the safety socket came about by accident. Not through an invention error, but through an accident that nearly cost me my life. I was 14 years old. As a teenager, I was passionate about mobile discos and loved organizing parties for friends. While installing a light show (all the colored spotlights, you know?), I had to insert a bulb and accidentally stuck my thumb in the socket — I was electrocuted. I lost consciousness and ended up on the floor. My lucky star was a friend who witnessed the scene and knew how to react to the severity of the accident.
This all happened more than forty years ago, but today electricity still kills 200 people a year and leaves 4,000 people severely disabled. A child is electrocuted every month in France. Do you find that normal? I don’t.
Any one of us can be a victim: all it takes is wanting to change a bulb in your living room, your bedside lamp, or your child’s bedroom, and you risk an electric shock or even electrocution.
